Terms of Service

By accessing or using SmileCompare ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

SmileCompare is a dental practice directory and marketplace. We connect patients with dental practices, process consultation and package payments, and offer optional practice advertising. We are not a healthcare provider, clinical assessor or medical organisation.

As a patient using the Platform:

• Booking requests and payments are handled through SmileCompare until your consultation fee or package payment (or approved clinic payment plans application) is confirmed.
• Clinic phone, email, and WhatsApp details are shared after payment or payment confirmation, not before.
• You are responsible for independently verifying the credentials and suitability of any dental practice.
• SmileCompare is not liable for the quality, safety, or outcome of any dental treatment received.
• Reviews must be genuine, accurate, and based on real experiences.

As a dental practice listing on SmileCompare:

• You confirm that all information provided is accurate, current, and not misleading.
• You set consultation fees within the platform range (£25–£500) and package prices shown to patients.
• You agree that consultation and package payments are collected through SmileCompare subject to our commission schedule.
• Optional Boost Listing advertising is separate from marketplace payments and membership.
• You are responsible for maintaining appropriate professional indemnity insurance.
• You agree not to post fake reviews or engage in deceptive conduct.
• We reserve the right to remove listings that violate our policies.

SmileCompare processes patient payments on your behalf:

• SmileCompare charges a 20% acquisition fee on the consultation fee for consultations generated through SmileCompare. The acquisition fee is a practice charge and does not increase the patient’s consultation price. Bookings created before this model takes effect keep their recorded fee and refund allocation.
• Packages are paid in full. SmileCompare retains a 2% commission on the package value. Existing bookings retain their recorded payment terms.
• Contact details are released to patients only after confirmed payment or confirmed payment, to protect both parties.
• Commission rates apply to marketplace transactions only and are not charged to patients as separate platform fees at checkout.

Free to join on a rolling monthly basis. All features currently available in SmileCompare are included. No paid package or membership card payment is required. To end your rolling monthly arrangement, contact support@smilecompare.com. Any future membership pricing will be communicated separately; joining does not start a paid trial.

Boost tools are available as part of launch membership. Optional advertising campaign spend is shown separately before purchase.

Practice owners retain ownership of content they upload. By submitting content, you grant SmileCompare a non-exclusive licence to display it on the Platform. We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these terms.

To the maximum extent permitted by UK law, SmileCompare shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Platform, including any harm resulting from dental treatment arranged through the Platform.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. Practice owners may close their account at any time via the dashboard or by contacting us.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
